  Classes

Newmarket Aikikai is a member of the United States Aikido Federation. For insurance reasons, each participant wishing to become a regular attendee is required to become a member of the United States Aikido Federation within the first month of joining of our Club.

The beginners class is geared towards learning the basics, and preparing participants for their first testing. All members are encouraged to participate to practice fundamentals and to assist the newer students.
Advanced class will be directed toward grading requirements for advanced students. All are welcome to attend, however there may be some restrictions for those who are not yet comfortable with ukemi (break falls/rolls) from participating.
The weapons class teaches an understanding and appreciation of Aikido techniques through the practicing of 3 different weapon styles. The Bokken (sword), Jo (short staff) and Tanto (knife). While there are some spare weapons at the Dojo, it is suggested that if you wish to pursue this training you purchase a weapon set.

The first class is free of charge and anyone is welcome to participate. If you are interested in participating in a class, it is recommended that you wear loosely fitted clothing that covers your knees.
